NINAD DAITHANKAR
"Music should come from within, then only you can enjoy it and so your audience. Further that, music should go beyond the boundaries of technical aspects, and reach the hearts of the audience." Says Ninad.
Ninad is a promising Santoor player of his generation. He belongs to a family of musicians. His father and Guru Dr. Dhananjay Daithankar is a senior Santoor maestro while his mother Dr. Swati Daithankar is a Bharatnatyam exponent. So Having born into a family of musicians , Ninad was fascinated by the sound of Santoor from early childhood. At the age of 12, Ninad started receiving his formal training in Santoor from his father & Guru Dr. Dhananjay Daithankar ( Disciple of Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma) and he has been learning Santoor for past 12 years. Ninad has also completed M.A. ( Santoor ) from Bharati Vidyapeeth's performing centre with distinction.
Special highlights :
Ninad started performing publicly at the age of 18. His playing style is a wonderful blend of systematic elaboration of the raag & intricate Layakari. He has performed extensively in various prestigious Music festivals held at different places across India such as Pune , Mumbai , Miraj , Solapur , Karnataka , Goa etc. He has also been to Canada to perform Santoor duets with his father.
Awards :
Ninad is a recipient of many prestigious awards. He has received the Citi-NCPA scholarship which is given to the young classical Musicians for the year 2020-2021. He has been awarded with Ajay Bakshi Smruti Puraskar at the hands of Taalyogi Pt.Suresh Talwalkar . He has been conferred with Indumati Kale Yuva Vadyavadak puraskar which is given by Ganwardhan (Pune).
Ninad is equally proficient in light music as well. He has played Santoor for many albums and films. He has a music video ' Rainbow- Colors of love' to his credit.
Ninad considers himself fortunate to have the opportunity to present his recital in front legendary Santoor Maestro Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma and has received his appreciation & blessings.
Along With the solid foundation of Indian classical Music , Ninad also loves to explore different possibilities on Santoor. He presents a unique thematic concert ' Moods & Melodies ' along with his father in which they perform their own compositions depicting different moods & emotions.
